You can therefore follow Beautiful Marseille on Insta @beautifulmarseille , on Facebook and the website https://beautifulmarseille.fr/ . Gold mine for your next weekends or holidays in Marseille.
Time for the interview, where Benoit has some surprises in store for us this summer with a new top 5! Let's dive.
Hello Benoit, in a few words, the story of Beautiful Marseille: when did you start this adventure?
I started working on this project a year ago. Most people who don't know Marseille have no idea of the treasures it contains. Of course the Calanques are known all over the world, but few know that the city also offers a variety of beaches for all tastes. It was time to bring them together in a simple guide, useful for tourists as well as for Marseille residents.
How did you go about identifying all these places? Did you have a specific method?
Yes, thanks to satellite images which make it possible to identify difficult-to-access coves. All you then had to do was go there to photograph them and see on the spot what might interest visitors.
Do you take the photos yourself?
My camera being my friend, yes. By trying to best reflect the spirit of the place and to make people want to come there.
Your top 5 for this summer:
  • The beach with the finest sand: what would it be? I would say that of the Sormiou cove.
  • The beach with the most beautiful sunset: what would it be? Bain des Dames beach.
  • The beach with the best snacks not far away: what would it be? Pointe Rouge beach.
  • The beach with the best waves in the event of a mistral: what would it be? Huveaune beach.
  • Your favorite beach to take your children to: what would it be? I like Prophete Beach because the slope is gentle, the atmosphere is relaxed and the place is well equipped (lifeguard station, amenities, catering, entertainment, etc.)
If you have other ideas for your favorite beaches, don't hesitate to share with @layerandplouf and @beautiful Marseille !
For this winter, we have another classification in store for you, because yes we also swim during the winter period.
